Competitive Overview

Rush is a small program and easy to fit, although it requires space on the Command Line.

Rush puts substantial pressure on the enemy's use of Invisible. There are few options for the enemy to safely use Invisible when Rush is active. If each player's setup is not revealed before the game, Rush serves as a "gotcha" that can take the enemy by surprise. Once aware of it, the enemy still has to play around it in a calculated manner.

Counterplay

If setups are revealed before the game begins, the player should already be aware of Rush's presence and can plan around it immediately. Otherwise, if setups are closed, cautious use of Invisible to scout for Rush can prevent being paralyzed at an inopportune time.

Using a Barrier chip or Chip Icon 6 Standard 184.png LifeAur before using invisible will spend Rush without being paralyzed. Having Status Guard will prevent Rush from paralyzing. In these cases, the chip is still spent. Preserving Invisible chips to be used as cut in defenses will also bypass Rush.

If paralyzed, one can Beast Out or change Crosses to cancel the paralysis, making using Invisible near the end of the turn an option.

If Mega Man is in base form, choosing not to mash out of Rush's paralysis is valid, as Mega Man will get the Angry status, allowing you to deal double damage with a chip that has a damage value.
