Competitive Overview

Beat puts pressure on the enemy's use of Mega/Giga Chips. Unless the enemy intends to use every such chip as a cut in, one will inevitably be nullified and taken away.

Counterplay

If setups are revealed before the game begins, the player should already be aware of Beat's presence and can plan around it immediately. Otherwise, if setups are closed, the first use of a Mega/Giga Chip that is not a cut in will reveal Beat.

Beat cannot be directly countered, only played around. Unless every Mega/Giga Chip is used as a cut in, Beat will inevitably steal one chip. Choosing a Mega Chip at the start of a round to "sacrifice" to Beat is an option, but there's always the chance that chip will be desired later in the round.

Beat is of particular concern for Chip Icon 6 Giga 004 Gregar.png ColForce users, as that Giga Chip can't be used as a cut in to bypass Beat. Another chip must be used to expend Beat before considering using Colonel Force.
